Discover the Heart of Pickering Coffeehouse

Pickering Coffeehouse has always been committed to a bigger mission than just coffee. We prioritize lifting up other local businesses and making our community a better place.  Along with our heart for close community and personable service, we also pursue a global mission through ethically sourced products and fair trade practices.

Meet the Faces Behind the Name

Megan (owner) and Maddie (manager) are the mother-daughter duo who brought Pickering to life. Megan previously owned the greatly missed home decor store Three Sisters Co. With a bittersweet end to that retail endeavor, Megan felt pulled to continue her entrepreneur journey and create a place for the community to gather. And who better to partner up with than her daughter who just graduated with a business management degree from West Chester University? When the iconic My Favorite Muffin location went up for lease, their idea was set in motion. Through months of renovating, researching, and planning, Pickering Coffeehouse finally opened its doors in February of 2024.

The Beans

There are many unique things about our coffee beans, where we get them, and who grows them. We are lucky to have a close personal relationship with the farm that supplies our espresso beans. Our roaster, Jason Pearl, has made many trips to San Lazaro Farm in Honduras and knows many of the growers by name! San Lazaro Farm is women-run, employs over 20 women with above fair trade wages, and and profits Mission Lazarus Children's Refuge. On the walls of Pickering you can see the pictures of the amazing women who pick the coffee beans that make up the drink in your hand!
